Pathway Learning Experiences
At McClure Health Science High School, students engage in Pathway Learning Experiences designed to help them learn, apply, and experience healthcare in authentic and meaningful ways. Through classroom instruction, hands-on skills laboratories, simulations, community engagement activities, leadership opportunities, and industry partnerships, students develop the knowledge, technical skills, and professional competencies needed for success in healthcare careers.
As students' progress through their pathway, they move beyond the classroom to apply their learning in real-world settings. These experiences allow students to strengthen critical thinking, communication, teamwork, professionalism, leadership, and patient-centered care skills while exploring a variety of healthcare careers.
Through the support of our valued healthcare and community partners, students have opportunities to participate in activities that may include community outreach, service-learning projects, healthcare career exploration, specialty healthcare environments, public health agencies, and, for eligible students, off-campus clinical placements.
Students selected for advanced Pathway Learning Experiences serve as ambassadors for McClure Health Science High School. They are expected to demonstrate professionalism, strong employability skills, accountability, and a commitment to excellence while representing both our school and the future of healthcare.
These experiences help students connect classroom learning to future careers, build college and workforce readiness skills, and gain a competitive advantage as they prepare to become the next generation of healthcare professionals.
Building Knowledge. Developing Skills. Inspiring Futures.
