Health Information Management (HIM)
This course provides students the knowledge and skills necessary to provide clerical support to physicians offices, clinics, hospitals, and more. The course covers the legal and ethical considerations necessary to follow to protect patient information while also providing the knowledge of medical terminology, front office management, and customer service. This is a great opportunity for students who may not want hands-on patient care, but would like to be in the healthcare field. The course also allows students to understand the business aspect of documentation, organization of scheduling, and handling sensitive issues.
